The New York rapper Nas was so close to headlining and curating one of the unique music events, the festival of hip-hop music, together with such rap stars as 2 Chainz, Chiddy Bang and Iggy Azalea, if not one really unpleasant thing that has happened lately. The event was planned to launch a bit later this month in Auckland, New Zealand, and slowly move to several other locations this time in Australia. However, it doesn’t seem to happen any more…
The long-awaited Movement Festival turned out to be scrapped now. This happened after Angel Haze, the Brooklyn female rapper pulled out because of some conflicting schedules and a collision of her recording commitments, and 2Chainz, one of the festival’s curators, has also withdrawn having failed in obtaining a visa due to some of his unresolved court case. With such sad misunderstandings the fans started complaining about not getting what they wanted and moreover, what they have been promised by the music event organizers. And so Live Nation and Niche Productions, the concert promoters, decided to cancel the whole festival.
In their statement the promoters of the festival say that the recent events have led to changing venues in some of the markets, which in its place leads to the event’s changed plans that fail to reflect the things that had been advertised before. Initially Live Nation & Niche had an intention to organize this Movement Festival – a perfectly organized and fully funded hip-hop and urban music festival with multiple acts performing. They wanted to vanquish all those past disappointments connected with all those event cancellations and artists withdrawals that have happened at other similar music events in the past. Instead they have faced the same problem themselves and despite their best attempts the organizers and the producers have failed to fulfil this goal. For this reason they have decided that it would be better if the festival would not take place at all.
All the ticket-holders are promised to get refunded.
